This is the new offical site of Polar LU ASBL.
Elodie holds an undergraduate degree in cultural anthropology from the University of Aberdeen, where the programme placed a strong emphasis on arctic anthropology and indigenous studies. Throughout her studies, she explored the cultures, histories, and knowledge systems of arctic indigenous peoples, with a particular focus on Indigenous literature, museology, mythology, cultural heritage, and contemporary political issues.
After participating in the 43rd American Indian Workshop, Northern Perspectives: Native Americans in WW II and Current Research, organized by held in Luxembourg, she had the opportunity to connect with researchers, museum professionals, and scholars working across indigenous studies, arctic research, and museology, further strengthening her interest in interdisciplinary collaboration.
In 2023, she joined polar.lu for the MNHN's Science Festival, a four-day public outreach event on science. With polar.lu's beloved Polar Bear mascot leading theworkshop, she helped engage visitors of all ages by explaining the science behind the Northern Lights while also sharing indigenous stories and mythologies that have long been associated with this natural phenomenon.
Elodie is passionate about contributing to a vibrant community of scientists, anthropologists, and educators, where she can continue to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, promote public engagement, and deepen the understanding of arctic cultures and indigenous knowledge.
